Photos from Iran in 1995

Back in the nineties, friends invited me to visit them in Iran (ایران). In September 1995, I spent four weeks with them, meeting wonderful people, and being amazed at the country’s beautiful scenery and landmarks. (No sympathy for the government, of course!)
Here’s a few of my photos. For much nicer images, follow the Wikipedia links!
On the road

Tehran (تهران)
I didn’t take a lot of pictures in Tehran (تهران). The traffic and sheer size of the capital are impressive. But there’s also beauty in the parks and mountains.

Isfahan (اصفهان)
There’s lots of phenomenal “tourist attractions” in Isfahan / Esfahan (اصفهان), a city that’s been world famous even back in the Middle Ages. I loved the city’s bridges at night, but unfortunately failed to take a good photo of them.

Shiraz (شیراز) and Persepolis (تخت جمشید)
Shiraz (شیراز) is another city with a rich history and beautiful places. Not far from Shiraz is Persepolis (تخت جمشید), a historical site built 2,500 years ago.
