It would be very elegant to be able to attach metadata inline, especially for long texts.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a nice <a href=\"http:\/\/en2.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rub%E9n_Gonz%E1lez\" title=\"Rub\u00e9n Gonz\u00e1lez - Wikipedia\">Wikipedia sample article<\/a> linking to people, dates, places, and other subjects.<\/p>\n<p>Exactly what I&#8217;d love to do, but these links should be more than &#8222;dumb&#8220; one-way hyperlinks. How about inline definition of association types and roles between topics?<\/p>\n<p>(They actually have a page for discussing <a href=\"http:\/\/en2.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wikipedia:Topic_Maps\" title=\"Wikipedia:Topic Maps\">&#8222;the case for a Topic Map structure for Wikipedia&#8220;<\/a>.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m currently thinking about &#8222;metadata in context&#8220;, and how to realise this using Topic Maps concepts.
