It will not harm your standing at all. [\u2026] You will learn more about those mistakes from writing about them, and that will make your own work better.<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] Odds are very good that well over half your career will be \u201cdark matter\u201d \u2014 stuff that will not be seen by the public. So those parts that are seen matter more than you think.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] Say \u201cwe\u201d not \u201cI.\u201d Because it\u2019s almost always the truth.<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] Have your own website, and have a portfolio of some sort on it. Ideally, the website\u2019s domain is your name. [\u2026] Slideshare and its widgets will be the detritus of history in fifteen years. Post\/host copies of everything you can on your own site.<\/p>\n<p>[\u2026] Get comfortable with public speaking. Develop a sense of humor if you haven\u2019t got one. Be very good at demoing.
