Back in the nineties, friends invited me to visit them in\u00a0Iran (\u0627\u06cc\u0631\u0627\u0646)<\/a>. In September 1995, I spent four weeks with them, meeting wonderful people, and being amazed at the country\u2019s beautiful scenery and landmarks. (No sympathy for the government, of course!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tehran (\u062a\u0647\u0631\u0627\u0646)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t take a lot of pictures in Tehran (\u062a\u0647\u0631\u0627\u0646)<\/a>. The traffic and sheer size of the capital are impressive. But there\u2019s also beauty in the parks and mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isfahan (\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0647\u0627\u0646)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s lots of phenomenal \u201ctourist attractions\u201d in Isfahan \/ Esfahan (\u0627\u0635\u0641\u0647\u0627\u0646)<\/a>, a city that\u2019s been world famous even back in the Middle Ages. I loved the city\u2019s bridges<\/a> at night, but unfortunately failed to take a good photo of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shiraz (\u0634\u06cc\u0631\u0627\u0632\u200e) and Persepolis (\u062a\u062e\u062a \u062c\u0645\u0634\u06cc\u062f)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Shiraz (\u0634\u06cc\u0631\u0627\u0632\u200e)<\/a> is another city with a rich history and beautiful places. Not far from Shiraz is Persepolis (\u062a\u062e\u062a \u062c\u0645\u0634\u06cc\u062f)<\/a>, a historical site built 2,500 years ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
